James W. Fey, D.M.D., P.C.
Dr. James W. Fey
Originally from Chittenango, NY, Dr. James Fey earned his undergraduate degree at Bingham University, then received a doctorate of dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969. He is board certified with an emphasis in restorative treatment, cosmetic and occlusal rehabilitation dentistry. Having completed continuums at the Pankey Institute and Dawson Academy, he provides particular strength in the treatment of occlusal disease and management of temporo-mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ).
After serving as Captain in the US Air Force as a dentist, Dr. Fey began practicing in the Ithaca area in 1971. He incorporated in 1975 and moved to our current location in 1996. Dr. Fey has a broad range of expertise and uses cutting-edge procedures in the restoring or replacement of teeth. He continues to bring many new ideas to restorative, cosmetic and occlusal rehabilitation dentistry.
Dr. Fey is an annual volunteer for the Smiles for Life Foundation, a children’s charity organization of the Crown Council. Each year over a four-month period, participating dentists offer teeth whitening at less than normal fees and donate 100 percent of the cost to children’s charities across the U.S. and Canada. This year a check for $2,500(half the proceeds raised) was donated locally to the Dream Factory of CNY to help “dreams come true” for critically and chronically ill children in our area.

In his spare time, Dr. Fey enjoys fishing, golfing and bow hunting. He's also a NASCAR fan. He and his wife, Kathryn, live in the Town of Caroline. Dr. Fey has three grown children, three grown stepchildren, and four grandchildren.
Patricia "Trish" Splaine-Hillman, Registered Denta lHygienist
Trish has been a dedicated employee of Dr. Fey’s practice since 1988. Her hygiene degree was awarded by New Hampshire Tech. She came to us with significant experience, so she now offers our patients the expertise of 30+ years in the dental field. Trish works primarily as a hygienist, but also and as Dr. Fey’s assistant. Attending continuing education with Dr. Fey is one her favorite job duties. She manages our inventory and ordering and enjoys some lab work for which she has received special training. Trish most enjoys working with Dr. Fey as a team, offering new technology and innovative treatment to our great patients.
Trish, her husband, John, are long-term Trumansburg residents. Their children, Emilee and Collin, currently attend college.
Lauren Fey Dublanica, Receptionist & Patient Care Coordinator
If Lauren's face looks familiar it's likely that you've been a patient of Dr. Fey for many years. Not only is she his daughter, Lauren has worked as Dr. Fey's assistant in the past. She earned a bachelor's degree from Binghamton University and is following in her father's footsteps by attending dental school. Lauren enjoys the many wonderful patients we serve, and she finds deep satisfaction when someone feels truly helped by our efforts. She particularly likes helping people overcome dental phobia and anxiety.
Lauren and her husband, Peter, are the proud parents of three young children, Avery, Bela Rose and Jackson. In addition to dentistry and motherhood, Lauren enjoys candy making, pottery, textile crafts, and music. She plays the piano and cello, and she sings. An appreciation for the outdoors runs in the family, as well. Lauran likes hiking and gardening in her free time.
Jamie Gehring, Dental Assistant
As Dr. Fey's dental assistant, Jamie works chairside to make procedures run smoothly for both doctor and patient. She attended Tompkins Corland Community College before joining our team in 2007. Jamie has a special gift for talking with our patients and making them feel comfortable during treatment. She enjoys seeing our patients' confidence and trust in Dr. Fey.
Jamie and her husband, Dick, have two sons, Kagan and Connor.
